Meet Reuben
Reuben is highly qualified in his field with over 20 years in the building industry. Reuben's knowledge and experience has allowed him to gain extensive knowledge of the building industry and keep up to date with new products being offered in the building and construction field. Reuben also has passion for structural engineering. This passion led to the opening of RES Engineering, a business that is managed and directed by Reuben.
Reuben saw an opportunity to start a business with a focus on sustainable building practices. And so in 2020 Enviro Slab was born and with it it's first product, Cupolex. Cupolex is a structural foundation system for concrete slabs that is Australian made, made from 100% recycled materials, and a more sustainable option than the polystyrene alternative. It was the love of this product that formed Enviro Slab once concrete slab at a time. In 2022 the product range expanded with Durabar and Diamond Grid. Durabar is an alternative to steel reinforcement used for concrete slabs, made from glass fibre reinforced polymer (GFRP) it has been a game-changer in the industry. Diamond Grid is a durable surface stabilisation and erosion control system. it is made from 100% recycled UV treated polypropylene and is engineered for loads to withstand up to 1000 tonnes per square metre.
Recognition
In 2021 we were lucky enough to be one of only 10 finalists in the Tasmanian Sustainable Business of the Year Awards. This was a huge achievement to be nominated as a finalist after within our first 12 months of operation.
We were lucky enough to be recognised as a finalist in the Launceston Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards for Environmental Excellence. The process involved an online application followed by interviews to determine the winner for the category.
